Edmonton based Brian Zahorodniuk, is a self taught photographer with an innate passion and talent for nature, people and "live music" photography.
Brian’s love and enthusiasm for photography began with a borrowed
35mm camera in 1980.
Thoroughly inspired, he subsequently purchased his own camera and has been passionate about this art form ever since.
From early on, his goal is to capture what his eye sees, as his eye sees it, without using filters or gimmicks, only the camera.
As a photographer, Brian has been described as possessing a gift for
"seeing the extraordinary in the ordinary".
He is grateful to see things a little differently than most.
His creative and eclectic works have been produced in calendar form, albums and of course, astonishing prints that please the eye and soothe the spirit.
This photographer sees beauty everywhere, in everything, and his camera is his constant companion, wherever he travels. As a result, Brian and his camera are always ready to capture those one of a kind moments, freezing snippets of time as seen with his unique perspective, to share with others so that they may see his subject matter as he sees it -
most typically in a spectacular splendour that the average eye misses.
